This evening my husband requested banana bread with walnuts. I usually add chocolate chips (I LOVE chocolate) but he wanted "Starbucks banana bread". *eye roll* Okay, walnuts it is. A recipe I've been using for years but I added walnuts and it turned out pretty delicious. Okay, no more fluff. I promised. Recipe and instructions below.

Why did the banana go to the hospital?
He wasn't peeling very well!

Banana Bread: With Walnuts
Bake time: 55-60 min - Oven temp: 350 degrees Fahrenheit
Ingredients:
1 1/3 cups All Purpose Flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda 2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 cup mashed ripe bananas (about 2 or 3 bananas)
2/3 cup granulated sugar
1/3 cup margarine (softened)
2 tablespoons milk
2 eggs
1 cup chopped walnuts ( save 1/2 cup for topping)
Instructions:
1. preheat oven to 350 and grease a 8x4 inch loaf pan.
2. Combine flour, baking soda, baking powder, and salt in a medium mixing bowl. Set aside.
3. In a medium mixing bowl beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
4. Add mashed bananas, milk, and eggs to butter mixture and mix until combined.
5. Add half of the flour mixture to wet ingredients and mix just until combined. Then add the rest of the dry ingredients and 1/2 cup of the walnuts and mix until combined. Do not over mix
6. Pour batter into prepared 8x4 inch loaf pan. Then top batter with remaining 1/2 cup of walnuts. (I probably used a heaping 1/2 cup. The hubby asked for walnuts, he's getting walnuts) ;) Bake at 350 degrees Fahrenheit for 55-60 min or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Cool on wire rack for 10 minutes.
